Talbot Yard Tips

Talbot Yard Food Court, just off Market Street and opposite The Talbot Hotel is one of Malton’s most popular locations. And if you love coffee then Roost Espresso Bar is for you. A speciality caffeine haven with all the beans roasted here in Malton. Across the yard is Food 2 Remember, a butchers and deli run by ‘legend’ Paul Potts. With a wide range of cuts, homemade chorizo, fishcakes and other delights, it’s always a laugh to visit.

Bluebird Bakery, opens its doors early and the bread travels a few feet from the ovens to the shelves. They specialise in sourdoughs but also do a mean Tunisian orange cake and their spinach and cumin rolls are excellent. Florian Poirot, Master Patissier is famous for his macarons but also makes the most superb chocolates, and desserts. As ‘UK Pastry Champion’ he is a genuine marvel with unmissable sweet treats.

Rare Bird Gin Distillery is delightful with its beautiful copper still ‘Florence’ taking pride of place plus, with a gin school upstairs, it’s a large slice of gin heaven ready to be visited. Their Rhubarb & Ginger gin is superb. And finally Groovy Moo Gelato, one of the most popular destinations in town. Bakewell Tart gelato, Salted Caramel gelato, even Christmas Pudding gelato. It is truly a very special and happy place. Need we say more!
