The huge 2 day Malton Christmas Festival is the shopping event of the year.

Expect a fabulous weekend of festive fun in and around Malton’s picturesque Market Place, with delicious food and festive gift stalls, street food, live music from local brass bands and choirs and family entertainment.

Join our favourite little elf for some interactive festive family adventure shows on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th December with several shows running throughout each afternoon.

Be Amazing Arts Creativitent

The Creativitent will be open for festive storytelling from 10am – 3pm.

Their story tellers will transport your children to Santa’s workshop and meet all of his Christmas helpers.

Ebeneezer Scrooge may even be spotted out and about ahead of his evening performance of A Christmas Carol.

North Yorkshire Rotters are back at the Malton Christmas Festival for 2024 with their ‘Christmas love food hate waste’ cookery demonstrations with chef Nigel Brown. Their volunteer ‘Rotters’ will also be giving info and advice about reducing food waste and home composting.

Experience the magic of Christmas right here in Malton on Sunday 8th December with a truly special event at the newly refurbished Wesley Centre. The enchanting candlelit concert will feature the mesmerising harmonies of a captivating string quartet. This festive celebration will bring the heart-warming spirit of the season to our local audience, as the Ebor quartet performs classic Christmas songs, from The Pogues to George Michael, along with timeless carol favourites.

With stunning vocals by Alistair Griffin, enjoy a Christmas sing along, indulge in a glass of mulled wine and soak in the festive atmosphere of this unforgettable evening.

Christmas Festival Car Parking

Malton’s town centre postcode is YO17 7LX. This is where the Christmas Festival is taking place.

There will be a designated car park for the festival weekend located at:

  • Riverside Meadows YO17 6AX: for traffic traveling from the north and westbound on the A64.

  • The What3Words reference for the car park is: https://w3w.co/croutons.coupler.contents

  • Parking is £7.50 per car (cashless, card payment only) and includes all day parking (9am-4pm) and a free Park & Ride service to and from the town centre.

  • The shuttle bus service will run from 9am – 3.45pm. The car park closes at 4pm.

  • The What3Words reference to get to the town centre is: https://w3w.co/icicles.lamppost.swatting

Car Parking can also be found in the two North Yorkshire Council run car parks at Water Lane and Wentworth Street which are only a short walk away from the town centre. Please check the parking information for each car park before you travel.

Getting to Malton

Visitors to the Malton Christmas Festival can also travel here by bus and train too.

Train Travel:

There's a direct train service to Malton on the Scarborough – York – Leeds Manchester line. For travellers from further afield, best connections are made via York. Malton’s railway line is currently serviced by TransPennine Express & Northern.

Bus Travel:

There are bus services to Malton from York, ScarboroughLeeds, Pickering & Helmsley. Download Coastliner timetables here. Both bus & railway stations are just a short walk from the town centre.
