Inspired by the Marathon Du Medoc in France's wine region, the Malton 10k is a ‘Gourmet Wineathlon’ going through an area of Yorkshire famous for its local produce & beautiful countryside.

Starting and finishing in Malton's pretty Market Place, this unique 10k course offers contestants the chance to nibble & sip their way around the treat laden course.

With a programme of live music, food, drink & fun aimed at spectators as much as racers - bring the family down, cheer on the participants and enjoy a joyful day of laughs, live entertainment & more!

As well as the 3 ‘races’ themselves, there’ll be a programme of music, entertainment & food from 10.30am - 4pm. A great day out for Racers & Spectators!

As participants finish there’ll be a programme of live music, entertainment & street food till 4pm including the fabulous “New York Brass Band” live on stage!

Prizes:

All entrants receive a champions gift & certificate.
In ‘Le Classique’ / ‘L’escargot’ there’s an award for the best fancy dress.

On offer will be local specialties such as beer, game from the Yorkshire moors, gin, veggie options, roast beef, Yorkshire puds, Medoc wine & even macarons from the UK pastry champion!

The event starts & finishes in Malton Market Place where a party atmosphere is created with runners & families in optional food & drink fancy dress.

 

More than a race, it’s an experience!

The event is designed to create a fun team atmosphere - one long party hosted by the team from YorkMix Radio Roadshow with music and family entertainment also provided for spectators.

A celebration of the best Yorkshire food and drink, a dose of healthy exercise & a great way to see the countryside!

The Sunday Market will also be taking place in the Market Place to compliment the Malton 10k event so supporters and spectators can enjoy delicious street food and a vibrant market too!

Four ticket options on offer

  • The Malton 10k’ - This one is ‘Sans Arret’ (no food & drink stops, just you vs the clock!) 10.45am

  • ‘Le Classique’ (The main event - 10k with food & drink) 12.30pm

  • ‘L’escargot’ (Same as ‘Le Classique’ but just for walkers - dogs on leads also welcome!) 12.40pm

  • NEW! ‘Le Sans Arret Ensemble’ - A combined ticket for those who want to get their PB & take part in the run only race first and then do the course again, this time savouring the food & drink that’s on offer.

  • OPTIONAL FANCY DRESS CODE - FOOD & DRINK THEMED

Ticket Options:

​The main event! A 10k fun run with food & drink stops. Entrants are encouraged to pace themselves, enjoy the gourmet pitstops and the party atmosphere!

The Malton 10k

A 10k for those runners who just want to run. No food & drink included in this ticket. Not hungry, no problem! If your body’s a temple, good for you! If you’re super fit, why not run the 10k in the morning, then join in the afternoon fun and enjoy the food and drink on offer.

A 10k for those who prefer to just walk and enjoy the food & drink at a more leisurely pace. Children, dogs (on leads) & grandparents are also very welcome!

Le Sans Arret Ensemble

The Ensemble ticket is for entry into both the morning 10k ("Sans Arret") AND "Le Classique/L'escargot". Runners can achieve their PB in the morning then tackle the course again in the afternoon at a more leisurely pace in order to sample the food and drink samples on the course.

Local Beer & Médoc Wines!

Ryedale Vineyards, Rare Bird Gin and Yorkshire Event Bars will all provide refreshing drinks on the course and as usual the beginning of the race will be toasted with a delicious wine from the Médoc region of France!

Roast Beef & Yorkshire Puds!

Expect mini Roast Beef & Yorkshire puddings with a dash of horseradish from The Talbot Hotel in Malton. Just the ticket to keep you powering over the finish line!

Macarons & More

Known for its famous artisan food producers, The Malton 10k offers macarons from Malton’s own legendary Master Patissier Florian Poirot.

The Patisserie will also be found out on The Gallop’s with a delicious selection of sweet treats.

 

Yorkshire Game

We like to offer some of Yorkshire’s finest specialities from the moors - so expect a beautiful game dish from The Cook’s Place - it is a ‘Gourmet Wineathlon’ after all!

Workshops & Family Entertainment 2024

Frequency: Every hour from 10.30am-1.30pm;

Duration: 40 mins to an hour, skill level dependent;

Group Size: 4 people per session.

Cost per workshop: copper rose - £45 | steel rose - £35

Participants will come away with a finished rose to take home. Pre-book your space by visiting the MUST Forge website.

Runners and spectators alike, can calm and soothe their feet at the Malton 10K with free foot treatments at Cosy Cottage, 17 Market Place, Malton.

Treatments will run throughout the day from 10am-4pm. Just pop in, see the team and relax!

Find out more about Malton’s fascinating history from the Roman to the modern day period, with a bite-sized guided town tour led by the Malton Museum around the Market Place.

The tour will run whilst the main Classique and Escargot races are taking place so spectators will be back in time to cheer on their family and friends. Everyone is welcome.

Tickets: £5 pp (adults), children are free but must be accompanied by a paying adult.
