FRIENDS OF MALTON MUSEUM: LECTURE PROGRAMME 2024 - 2025

19th February - Dr Ron Pickering, volunteer at NYMR and local historian.

This talk will explain the origins of the NYMR, from the early days of horse-drawn carriages, the takeover and development by George Hudson to the expansion to Malton (and then even to London). When and how did the service decline, and who was responsible for the Heritage line we now know?
The talk will be illustrated by archival material from the current NYMR headquarters at Pickering.

All lectures are held in the New Classrooms, the West Wing, Malton School, Middlecave Road, YO17 7NH and start at 7.30 p.m.

Admission is £5 per lecture.
