Kemps presents: The Golden Age of Crime Writing

  • Kemps Bookshop 11 Market Place Malton, England, YO17 7LP United Kingdom (map)

A scintillating evening discussing all things golden-age of crime writing with Tom Mead, acclaimed author of Death and The Conjuror and The Murder Wheel.

Mead will be joining us again to discuss not only his books, which play delightful homage to his favourite authors from the golden-age, but also his long held fascination with crime detection writing from the evocative period between the world wars.

His enthusiasm is contagious and you will soon find yourself immersed in the world of authors such as Agatha Christie and John Dickson Carr; learn about their inspiration and how their works have shaped others’ writing, including Tom’s.

Tom is a particular aficionado of the sub-genre of locked room mysteries, a fact which is evident from his debut novel Death and the Conjuror, which pays a witty tribute to them. He will be signing copies of his books after the event.

Tickets are £5 and booking is essential. To book your tickets or for more information about the event, please visit the Kemps General Store website here.
