Malton Museum Walking Tour: Malton’s Medieval Story

Date: Saturday 15th June 2024

Time: 10.30am - 12noon

Meet at St Mary’s Church, Old Malton

The layout of Malton town centre has changed very little since medieval times, but its early origins are now well concealed behind later Georgian and Victorian buildings. St Mary’s Priory Church in Old Malton is the largest remaining visible evidence of a flourishing medieval past. Join us there for an illustrated talk in which we reveal the hidden history of the origins of both Old and New Malton. This will be followed by a guided look at key features inside the church and in the former priory grounds by the river.

The tour takes about 90 minutes.  It takes place inside and outside so please bring appropriate attire.  Parking is available at the church.

Cost £10.00 per person, includes an information pack.
