Malton Museum Walking Tour: River…Road…Rail
Date: Saturday 25th June 2022
Time: 11am-12.15pm
The layout of Malton town centre has changed very little since medieval times, but its early origins are now well concealed behind later Georgian and Victorian buildings. St Mary’s Priory Church in Old Malton is the largest remaining visible evidence of a flourishing medieval past. Join us there for an illustrated talk in which we reveal the hidden history of the origins of both Old and New Malton. This will be followed by a guided look at key features inside the church and in the former priory grounds by the river. Led by Dr Christine Churches, Dr Kate Giles and Margaret Mackinder.
Tickets: £10 per person (includes tea and coffee provided from 10.45am)
